The Health Conclusion

This blog is about inspiration, transformation, and motivation. It is fitness and health centric.

I am not a fitness or health professional. I am, however, a college sophomore livin' the city life in Boston, majoring in Psychology and English with a minor in Special Education.

I’m coming back to the fitblr world!

After months of hiatus, I’m coming back and getting back on track with all aspects of my healthy lifestyle goals!

In the last few months, though my eating has fallen off track, here’s what I have done:

  1. Started going to the counseling center! A difficult step for me to take, but one I’m really proud of. I’ve only had two sessions, but next week I’m going to the psychiatrist to talk about going back on anti-anxiety medicine and I’m going to keep up with the weekly therapy sessions. I’ve never been this committed to getting, and staying, mentally and emotionally healthy. Hooray for free college services!
  2. Managed to stick with my vegetarianism!
  3. Managed to stick with a semi-regular gym schedule!
  4. Made the decision to rededicate myself 100% to becoming the person that I want to be, and going after my goals professionally and personally.
  5. Declared psych as a second major!
  6. Talked to the community service center about starting a program next semester for children with autism!
  7. Decided to get back into the healthy tumblr loop.

And now, I’m going to think about how I can best use this blog to further my next steps in the grand scheme of getting healthy, confident and happy.

This is good.

fall semester fitness plan: exercise edition

So, I move back to Boston in a week
and I can’t wait to go back and use the campus gym whenever I want!
In preparation for my return I’m creating a fall semester fitness plan to keep me on track and give me some nutritional and workout-realted direction in the midst of 20 credit hours, work-study jobs, and an at least attempted social life. I’m planning on making page for this on my blog and tagging related posts with #fsfp.
Here’s what I’ve come up with so far in terms of gym time and working out!
What’s your action plan for the 1st half of the academic year?

about me and
The Health Conclusion:
My (middle) name is Nicole, and after an entire childhood of allowing myself to self destruct, I decided to work toward my own happiness and health, because I came to the conclusion that I deserve it.  I took a hiatus from this blog and deleted it a while back, but after realizing how much I really benefited from it, we’re back.

Weight
I haven’t weighed myself in a long time, but since I started this whole journey I’ve lost ~35-45 pounds and, originally being between a 16 and 14 pant size, this weekend (8/21/11), I went clothing shopping for the new semester and celebrated my purchase of 5 new pair of size 8 pants. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m a work in progress.

etc.
I’m a college sophomore. I love quotes, words, writing, poetry. I work with children with Autism. I’m double majoring in Special Education and English with a minor in Social Justice.
I’m a vegetarian.
I want to know you.
I like philosophy, history, dancing, music, conversation, yoga, being ridiculous, taking walks, photography, tattoos of quotes/words, and a whole sleuth of other things.
